Serenity's Mission Statement Serenity is a hybrid guild composed of hard-core raiders, casual players, pvp'ers, questers, and social butterflies. We are committed to supporting and helping all of our members and their various interests, while providing a competitive and challenging enviroment that allows for end-game progression and achievement. Guildlines - Serenity is a guild of good and positive people. We are focused on having fun with people we enjoy playing with. The first question when anyone wants to join guild is, "Is he/she a good person?" More than anything, that is our priority. - The second priority is maturity. We are a no-nonsense mature guild. We absolutely do not tolerate drama, whining, or any other type of disruption, gossip, negativity. The majority of our players are adults. So if you find adults boring or overbearing you will not like us. - We do not tolerate name-calling or any sort of hate mongering. - We do not tolerate WoW forum trolling. It doesn't get you or our guild anywhere. Do not feed the trolls. Do not be a troll. Simply report the offending post so the moderators can delete it. - We discourage Trade and General chat nonsense from guild members. If you love to argue in Trade and General, we're not the guild for you. Trade and General chat bickering is an embarrassment and dishonors our Serenity tag. If you find yourself getting caught up, then we suggest you "/leave General" and "/leave Trade" to avoid getting sucked in. - In pickup groups, remember that you represent Serenity. Act accordingly. - If all you're after is loot, we're not the guild for you. We frown on selfishness. Our DKP system is set up to award long-time loyal raiders while also allowing newer folks and infrequent raiders the opportunity to eventually catch up. - Many of our raid spots are filled by members who have been in the guild for a long time (months and years). So if you're expecting to come into guild and start raiding immediately, you will be disappointed and probably won't last long in Serenity. Expect to wait a fairly long time to be consistently invited. "Fairly long time" is months, not weeks, not days, not minutes. And you will be expected to earn your raid spot by being active in guild, helpful, friendly and PATIENT. - Being in our Ventrilo server is especially helpful for guildies to get to know you better. - Many of our guild members have children who play the game or who either monitor or can hear Ventrilo. Keep your discussions in Vent and in Guild Chat RATED-PG, please. Find more creative ways of expression than the usual boring swear words. - We work as a group. Which also means giving your spot up for the betterment of a raid or other instance run for other folks if asked. - No one is guaranteed a spot in any group or raid. Signing up on the calendar for a raid or instance is not a guarantee of a spot. All invites are at the discretion of the raid leader. If you feel as though you are being overlooked, try running level appropriate 5-man heroics or 10-mans and providing WWS reports as backup. - Being undergeared and uninformed about any particular raid is unfair to the other 9 or 24 who have to compensate and wipe over and over and over. Please do your homework. Bosskillers.com and WoWWiki.com are a couple of good resources for raid and boss strategies. YouTube also has a ton of boss strategy videos available to allow you to see a particular fight in action. Also, make sure you know (maybe keep a list of) your upgrades. You don't want to waste your dkp on a downgrade. - We hope all the good people of Serenity will be in the guild for the long term, but in the event you quit guild and wish to return, you will need to reapply using the guild application form unless extenuating circumstances exist, to be determined by the guild leader. All officers will vote on your application, as is the standard operating procedure for all applicants, and a decision will be based on that vote. Please note, you have 48 hours from the time you gquit to reapply to the guild, otherwise you will forfeit both your DKP and rank, which means you start over from scratch with 0 DKP and Inductee rank. - Guild officers are available to answer any questions about rules, playing the game, or Serenity culture and expectations. Alley is our guild leader. The guild officers are: Capso, Derava, Gneiss, Skindog, Supersneaky, Tiande, and Velgar. - If there is trouble or you have concerns about officers or your fellow guildies or about the Guild Leader (Alley), you can direct your inquiries to Gneiss. She is our Guild Ombudsperson, a fair and reasonable guildie. She will keep your identity confidential and if necessary, your issues will be presented in a way to the other officers, guild leader, or guild in a manner that will not expose your identity (if you are concerned about that).
