Raid & Loot Rules
You must read and abide by the following rules in order to raid with Serenity. You must state that you have read and understood these raid rules by responding in this thread.
A. BEING ON TIME: You must log into the game, on your signed-up toon,
at least 30 minutes prior to the scheduled run time. If y
ou're late, your spot will become up-for-grabs, to be filled by someone either on the standby list or someone at large.
B. BEING AT THE INSTANCE: You must be at the instance entrance and logged into Ventrilo at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. We would prefer you not be lazy. The constant stream of "summon pls" in raid and guild chat is chaotic and noisy. If you can get there yourself, get there yourself.
C. BEING PREPARED: Be repaired. Have your stat foods. Have any potions, elixirs, flasks, poisons, resistance gear, quest items ready. If you need something from the guild bank, please let someone know beforehand. Or get it yourself. Beforehand means at least an hour ahead. There is a thread with more information about the consumables you will need for progression raids. Special note: You may NOT ask for tradecrafting services from the raid leader for up to an hour before a scheduled run.
D. VENTRILO & ADDONS: Ability to monitor Ventrilo is required for all raids and guild instance runs. We also require that you install certain addons. Please see the thread on required addons for a list.
E. GENERAL ("UNOFFICIAL") RAID LOOT PROCEDURE: All raid instances except for Ulduar 25 are open for scheduling by any guild member. DKP is neither spent nor gained in unofficial raids. Loot for 10-, 40- and 25-person raids will be distrubuted by the following rules:
- BoP Items: All bind-on-pickup items must be PASSED on by all members of the raid. You must be careful and press the X. Many other guilds run Master Looter, but we do not! So be careful!! If you have any doubts, ask first. After everyone has passed, the loot distribution procedure initially laid out by the person leading the raid will take effect.
- BoE Items: The distribution of these items will be determined by the person leading the raid. Loot rules should be laid out at the beginning of any run. This is especially important if you are running a raid with people not from guild. Make sure each new person who joins the raid knows the loot rules. You may need to spam the raid channel with the information.
F. "DKP RAID" LOOT PROCEDURE: DKP Raids currently include all level 80 raid instances, or as determined by the raid leader. DKP is accrued and spent on these raids. All other raids are considered General/Unofficial raids.
- Unwanted Loot: Materials from disenchanted items are to be placed into the guild bank. If there is no enchanter in the raid, the Raid Leader will designate a looter. The looter will take the items and vendor them, then place the proceeds into the guild bank.
- BoE Loot Distribution: All items will either be distributed in the same way as BoP items (see F3), or will be looted by a designated guild member and placed into the guild bank for distribution to needy guild members.
- BoP Loot Distribution: All BoP loot can be bought using a percentage of your net DKP. Read up on DKP systems here. We use WebDKP to keep track of points, you are welcome to register with WebDKP.com and install the in-game addon here. However, you can also just reference our guild DKP webpage here. All of these rules are subject to modification by the raid leader. Main and alt DKP is not pooled.
-
- Earning DKP
- On time: 1 point (this means, when the invites start going out, you are available and ready) — if you have previously informed the raid leader or a raid assist that you will still be on-time, but cannot make it 15-30 minutes beforehand, you will still receive your on-time bonus.
- Ironman: 1 point for staying the entire raid. If you are asked to leave because another class or role is needed for progression, you will receive your staying-in-entire-raid point.
- Boss kill: 2 points for a downed boss or 4 points for a newly downed boss.
- Timed award for new bosses: 1 point for each quarter hour (15 minutes) spent in raid attempting to down a new boss.
- No-shows: - 4 points. No-shows are people who sign up to attend a raid and don't show up.
- AFKs, AWOLs & leaving raid without sufficient notice — depending on raid leader's discretion, you may lose dkp.
- If you leave raid before your final points are distributed, chances are you will not get them. So, before you leave raid, make sure the DKP admin has allocated final points.
- Spending DKP
- For purposes of distribution, all hybrid-class toons must choose one main spec.
If you decide to change your main spec, please post a message of intent in the Group/Raid forum.
- Loot will be offered in the following priority:
- Main Spec
- Off-Spec (this should be a raid-viable off-spec, not your pvp spec)
- Alt characters (this should be a raid-viable alt, not your pvp alt)
- Alt characters' off-spec (this should be a raid-viable off-spec, not your pvp spec)
- A percentage of dkp will be deducted for each item based on the following table:
- Tier tokens, weapons, armor, trinkets: 20% of dkp
- Epic recipes for a BoP crafted item: 20% dkp
- Epic recipes for a BoE crafted item: 15% dkp
- Enchant, alchemy recipe: 15% dkp
- Off-spec items: 15% dkp
- Alts pay the same as mains (i.e. not off-spec cost)
- All loot costs will be rounded to the nearest point. All loot costs are at least 1 point.
- The person who wants to buy the item AND who has the most net DKP will receive the item.
- If there are no buyers, the raid leader will have an enchanter disenchant the item. Or s/he may assign someone to vendor the item and have proceeds deposited to the guild bank.
- If there is a case in which any or all interested parties have the same amount of net dkp, then the winner will be determined by a random 1–100 roll.
- IMPORTANT NOTE: The raid leader or loot admin may disallow any buy requests that s/he does not deem appropriate. This includes buying items that your toon cannot use or equip.
G. COURTESY: Each fight is an encounter we must learn as a team. When getting ready to start an encounter, please be courteous and let the raid leader talk without interruption. It can be very annoying trying to talk over everyone.
H. DISPUTES: In all cases, the final ruling on any disputes will be made by the raid leader present. While appeals to any ruling can be made to the guild leader and/or guild ombudsperson, due to the nature of BoP loot, no redistribution of gear is possible and no compensation will be offered. The Serenity guild ombudsperson is Gneiss.
I. DISTRIBUTION OF GUILD BANK EPICS FROM RAIDS:
- In general, all epics from "new" raids may only go to mains. 25-man epics from new raids cost DKP.
- Any other epic gear from anywhere other than "new" raids can go to any level-appropriate toon, as long as the intention is to gear up the toon for guild pve raiding.
- All other gear (blues) may go to any level-appropriate toon.
J. MISCELLANEOUS NOTES:
- Alternate toons are not, in general, welcome on DKP Raids. However, the final raid composition will be determined by the Raid Leader, at his/her discretion, depending on existing raid makeup and needs.
- Signing up for a raid does not guarantee you a spot. Ultimate raid composition is to be determined by the raid leader.
- The raid leader will post guild DKP Raids each week on the calendar. All other raids are open for any guild member to organize, as long as it does not conflict with DKP Raiding events. General/Unofficial raids may not be scheduled more than 6 days in advance.
- To change an alt character to your main, you need to post a message of intent in the Group/Raid forum.
- If the Raid Leader asks you to change your alt character to your main --and you agree-- for the good of the raid and guild, your current main's DKP will be transferred to your alt (future main).
- It is still perfectly okay to pass on rolling for gear you feel is only a marginal upgrade for you when it is a more significant upgrade to a fellow guildmate. This includes letting a guildmate complete their tier set or a guildmate still geared in greens and blues.
- Please remember we want to have fun as a guild and be fair to one another.
