A Return to DKP

Posted by AlleyOctober 4, 2009 at 10:31 pm
Hello All!

Since we haven't been running DKP f or raids in quite a while, we've got some proposed changes. There are a lot of reasons for the changes, so please ask about them with the officers, post a forum message in the Raid forum, or PM me here. These changes are proposed. Which is to say, nothing is decided and we're requesting your input to make sure all is fair to both old and new raiders.

Remember, these really only apply to existing consistent 25-man raiders. If you are not in that category, you are welcome to provide input, but the impact of these changes on you will be minimal.

Here goes:

1) NORMALIZE DKP (completed):
All current (as of today) raiders get at least 162 DKP (this is the current average DKP of the guild) -- I am sorry, but this will not apply to new member raiders. New members start at the beginning.

For those who have more than 162, we give a percent bonus based on current DKP divided by average DKP as a percent. This will still normalize DKP levels and keep older raiders a percent ahead of newer raiders, but not so much that it's impossible to catch up.

example: Smoken is 424 current dkp = 424/16.2 or 26% bonus over 162 which equals 204

2) NO MORE LOOT COUNCIL

3) DKP RAIDS ARE FOR MAINS
- other types of raids (for-fun, for-alts, etc) are open to anyone

4) DKP PERCENTAGE COST INCREASE:
- 20% for all slots
- 15% for off-spec and things that help guildies

note: Alts pay 20% like mains, since they are basically bringing them into a raid in which we only allow mains. A person should not get a benefit for bringing an alt to a raid, especially since alts and mains have their own separate DKP.

When would all of this take effect? DONE
We'd like to get DKP up and running again ASAP. But I suspect we probably won't be ready until at earliest Oct. 13.

Where is the Guild Leader?

Posted by AlleySeptember 16, 2009 at 6:43 pm
Hello to all folks old and new! If you're new to the guild, unfortunately, I have probably not yet met you in Vent or in-game. Hopefully I will be able to at some point. Unfortunately, for the time being, this forum is one of the only ways to reliably contact me. Feel free to message me in this forum with any questions or concerns or just to say hello.

So what happened to me? One day I was happily self-employed, online all day doing dailies, chatting and being a general WoW addict, and the next I was disappeared. Real life got a hold of me and now I have a full-time job. Yep, it's actually that simple. By the time I get home, it's time to make dinner. By the time dinner is done, raid is waaaayyy over and it's time for me to hit the sack.

And then it starts all over the next day.

So, what's to be done? Well...our guild happens to have a great group of officers who are always willing to help and listen and answer questions. Again you can contact me directly or you can go to your friendly neighborhood officer. Don't hesitate.

If you're an old friend, hello and I miss you! If you're a new friend, welcome to Serenity!

Serenity Alumni

Posted by AlleyJune 30, 2009 at 1:50 pm
For members old and new, we've set up a Serenity Alumni website for all members to stay in touch with each other.

Because Wowstead registration is reliant on wowarmory and only allows membership if you have a toon in the game, we added another site specifically for alumni that has more flexiblility in terms of membership and registration.

Go check it out and register if you want to stay in contact with folks who are no longer in the game. Oh, and spread the word to all Serenity alumni you bump into:  http://serenityalumni.guildportal.com

Alts and Mains

Posted by AlleyJune 7, 2009 at 10:56 pm
In an effort to begin addressing some issues we've had with alts, today we unlinked a main's dkp from their alt's dkp. Your alt will have to accrue dkp on its own.

There will be more changes coming soon for your input!

Policy on Guild Quitting

Posted by AlleyMay 11, 2009 at 12:27 pm
We've hammered out some guidelines for guild quitting, in order to make the process more transparent and fair to everyone.

Here are the details:

We hope all the good people of Serenity will be in the guild for the long term, but in the event you quit guild and wish to return, you
will need to reapply using the guild application form unless extenuating circumstances exist, to be determined by the guild leader. All officers will vote on your application, as is the standard operating procedure for all applicants, and a decision will be based on that vote.

Please note, you have 48 hours from the time you gquit to reapply to the guild, otherwise you will forfeit both your DKP and rank, which means you start over from scratch with 0 DKP and Inductee rank.

Championing

Posted by AlleyNovember 22, 2008 at 1:44 pm
Hello level 80s! Now that you've sped your way up to the top, it's probably time to figure out what to do next. As we gradually assemble folks for our 25-man teams, make sure to check out what the various faction quartermasters have for you. It's a cheap way to get really really excellent upgrades.

Also, In order to build faction quickly, Blizz has introduced Championing. As you run level 80 instances (5-man heroics), you get extra rep if you wear a certain faction's tabard. It's a quick way to build your reputation with certain factions. So when you know what gear you want, get the tabard and equip it.

The current Northrend championing factions are:
• Wyrmrest Accord - quartermaster in Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight
• Argent Crusade - quartermaster in Argent Vanguard in Icecrown
• Kirin Tor - quartermaster in The Violet Citadel in Dalaran
• Knights of the Ebon Blade - quartermaster in The Shadow Vault in Icecrown

From the WoW official website:
Northrend Special Reputation Tabards
if you're friendly with certain Northrend dungeon factions (Wyrmrest Accord, Knights of the Ebon Blade, Kirin tor and Argent Crusade only), you can wear that faction's tabard to any level 80 dungeon and funnel all the rep to that faction. Make sure you pick up your tabard as soon as you can!

Welcome to Serenity

First thing you should do, register.

Second thing you should do, verify your guild membership. Read the Readme in the Forum if you don't know what verifiying means. The forum can be accessed by clicking the Forum link over there to the left-hand side.

Once you're all verified, you'll be able to see a lot more of the site.

Third, just take a look around. Scan through the forum threads. Make sure to respond to the ones that require your response. We've also got a gallery of screenshots — you can add your own personal album. There's a guild bank feature, which lets you see what's in there and even request items straight from the web. The roster is a nice place to check gear and other toon info. The DKP tab has all your DKP information.

If you need help, please feel free to contact any of the officers.
